Ten Popular Series I’ve Yet To Read – Top Ten Tuesday #18

Happy Tuesday Guys,

This meme is currently hosted by Jana @That Artsy Reader Girl and every week she assign topics for us to do. This week’s topic though, I twist a little bit. I don’t have ‘Series I’ve Given Up On/Don’t Plan to Finish’ so I’m just gonna go with Popular Series I’ve yet to read. Seriously, there are so many amazing series out there, when I’m gonna read them all? But I will…

giphy

I know most of you have read these books already and I’m asking for help. Help me decide what to read first. 🙂

TEN POPULAR SERIES I’VE YET TO READ:

1.) Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

If I’m not mistaken PJO is a five-book series. I’m not sure because I don’t own all the books in the series, I only have three. I’ve watched the movies and I think they’re fine (though not that amazing) so I wanna read the books too. 🙂 🙂 I’ve read Kane Chronicles last year and liked it and I’ve heard PJO is so much better so I’m excited.

2.) The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

I’m baffled. I haven’t read this series yet I rated it 3 stars on Goodreads. I might have accidentally clicked the stars when I listed it as to-read. And since I didn’t know how to remove the star rating, I just changed it from 3 to 5 stars so it won’t hurt the overall ratings. Lol. Anyway, I liked TMI though for me it dragged somewhere along 4th or 5th book (I don’t remember), so I want to read this one too. And my God, the fandoms surrounding this series.

3.) A Song of Ice and Fire (aka Game of Thrones) by G.R.R. Martin

So far this series has 5 books (according to Goodreads) and it isn’t finished yet. I once promised myself to read the books once the TV adaptation ends. But I changed my mind, I’m gonna read the series when all the remaining unpublished books come out.

4-5 Throne of Glas (TOG) and A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) by S.J. Maas

I know, I know… After all these time, I haven’t read these two mega-popular series yet. I will, I promise. I just.. Okay I don’t have any valid reason except I’m so scared I might fall in love with Tamlin so much I might die when Rhysand comes out. And I might get depressed. hahaha. But seriously, I’m scared.

And as for ToG, well, I don’t know why I haven’t read it yet. hehe

6.) The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater

This series!!! Seriously, I wanna smack myself for not reading it yet because it only has 4 books and I already have all of them. And the GR synopses told me I’m gonna enjoy reading them so why…

This GIF though is so ME…

7.) Red Queen Series by Victoria Aveyard

I bought the first book in the series solely because of the cover. It’s really gorgeous. But reading the synopses of all four books, I knew this series has every element I would like. I put this series in one of the Reading Challenges I’m joining so before this year ends, I’ll be reading it.

8.) Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I have plenty of friends who suggested this series to me. I’m a sucker for great romances and I might love this series. So they said. BUT, they also said it’s Twilight-ish. No offense to Twilight fans but I didn’t like it. (Sorry) I think my friends thought I’d be motivated to read Lux if they compare it to Twilight. Sorry friends, NO. But since I have the first 2 books in the series, I might still try reading it one day.

Now, can anybody from blogosphere tell me if I should read this one? And why? :):)

9.) Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton

Only three books in the series, I’m sure I’ll read this one before 2019. Though is this considered popular? I’m not sure. No one seems to be talking about this series. But it did win as GR Choice Award for Debut Authors and a Nominee for Fantasy YAs.

10.) The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King

I’m always intimidated by Stephen King’s books. Maybe because most of them are long and sometimes, they can be a hit or miss to ME. Horror is not my main Genre but I’ve heard nothing but GREAT things about this series plus the movie adaptation was badass. I really liked it.

Have you guys watched it? It’s so badass!!!

There you have it guys. I really wanna chat with you all about these series. Have you guys read any of them or are they on your TBR as well?

So let’s chat below. AND I DON’T MIND SPOILERS.

Spoil me… I’d rather be spoiled than waste my time reading them…

Happy Reading,

I haven’t read Red Queen series. I’ve heard it could be a hit or miss and my Twitter friend actually told me she didn’t like it lol I’m curious to try, though!
    Happy reading, Lili ❤

I was told the same thing. but hopefully it’s a hit for us. 🙂 but at least the covers are beautiful. The books will still have place on my shelf.

(P.S. I thought I replied to your comment earlier. I don’t know why it wasn’t posted.)

Snap! I did this too this week! I had Rebel of the Sands on my list too – I can personally recommend Percy Jackson (and basically anything written by Rick Riordan) for people who like books aimed at younger readers and/or mythology. I also loved The Infernal Devices more than TMI and Game of Thrones and Throne of Glass are among my loved series too. I need to read Lux as I own some two of the books but it hasn’t been on my TBR as long as others 🙂 Great list, Lili! XD

Thank you. 🙂 🙂 I’m excited to read Riordans books. And Rebel of the Sands have been on my TBR since last year, I just waited for the last book to come out. It already did but I still haven’t started reading the series. 🙂 🙂

PJO and Rebel of the Sands are in most comments and they’re all saying good thing.. I’ll read Rebel of the Sands soon, I’ll strat with it coz it’s only a trilogy and I already have all the books. 🙂
And about Maas’ books, maybe by the end of 2018, I finally get around them. lol..

Of these, I’ve only read the first George R. R. Martin book. Man, as much as I love epic fantasy, it was hard to get through. I want to finish the series, but I’m waiting to see if the next book ever gets published!

Also, I’m kind of ashamed of myself – I love Stephen King but haven’t read any of the Dark Tower books.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

I love Epic/High fantasy too, have you read Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss? I’ve read the first book and liked it so much but I can’t get myself to read the sequel because I keep wondering when the 3rd book is gonna come out..

Hehe, I heard that the first book on Dark Tower was not that good. I was even told to don’t give up after reading it and get the 2nd book right away.

Exactly why I don’t read much high/Epic Fantasy books though I love the genre, they’re just too long..
Awww, I hate it when MCs turn annoying instead of developing into someone more likeable as the story progresses…

I’ve read the first, two Rebel of the Sands books. I enjoyed them. I think the setting takes me back to the days when I read One Thousand and One Nights in high school. My group had used my Barbies to enact a part from the book. I loved the Percy Jackson series! I’m a big Greek mythology nut. I read the whole Shadowhunter series by Clare but wasn’t impressed by the series that followed. The first series is the only one I feel fits epic. I hope the Infernal Devices one is a good prequel; I have it on my TBR.
