Happy Tuesday Guys,
This meme is hosted by Shanah @Bionic Book Worm and she assigns wonderful topic each week. Since it’s summertime anywhere in the world (except in my country, hehe), this week’s topic is ‘Summertime Reads’. I’m just gonna share five books I really love to read while relaxing because (gasp!) I don’t love Summer. Usually during summer, I come up with plenty of alibis when family and friends go to some beach or somewhere, just so I don’t have to go with them. Yep, I’m horrible.
Now, lets get to the list. These are books I’d love to read when I’m relaxing. And yeah they’re Romance novels because I don’t have to think that much when the genre is romance. Because I believe that when it comes to love, you don’t use your mind, you use your heart. High-five to that…
Now let me laugh. Hahaha… I’m kidding. GUYS! Use your brain too…
Now to the list, FOR REAL!
1.) The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
This must be the most adorable story I’ve ever read. The MCs, Joshua and Lucy, are the best. They made me laugh so hard, made me love and care for them. Also Respect them. I think this is the first time I’ve ever said about respecting a character. But at the last quarter of the book, before the resolution, Sally did something for Joshua and it was so unexpected and grand. And what she didn’t know is Joshua did something too, for her. So cute… I just reread this one and you can find my review HERE.
2.) Kiss an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
I think I’ve recommended this book a thousand times already. That’s how much I love this book. Though the MCs got through some struggles, they’re the kinds that resulted into major character developments and I loved it. Daisy and Alex needed those struggles. And that made this book one of the most satisfying books I’ve read.
I also lost count how many times I’ve reread this one. Review HERE!
3.) Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas
This book is in every Best Historical Romance List I’ve seen. Probably how I discovered the series it was in. The series, Wallflowers Series, tells the stories of four friends, all of them are wallflowers and really, all the books in the series are amazing. I actually reread them all last January to fuel up my reading. BUT Devil in Winter, third in the series, is the BEST. At least for me. Evie the shyest of all the wallflowers found herself a man and she asked him to marry him. Aaawww, really, Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent is simply THE man… If we’re gonna talk about reformed Rakes. 🙂
4.) Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn
This one is 4th in an 8-book Historical Romance Series. The series, Bridgertons Series, tells the stories of 8 siblings. And out of the 8, I chose to recommend Romancing Mister Bridgertons. Really, this isn’t the best in the series, but it tells the story of my two most favorite supporting characters since book 1. I truly adore Colin Bridgertons and Penelope Feaitherington. And for me they’re the main spice of the whole series. The other books are more entertaining because these two are in them. And by the way, as I’m editing this post, I just took a break from Rereading this book. I’m rereading the whole series.
5.) After the Night by Linda Howard
Another most-often recommended book from me. And another book I’ve reread this year. Now, this book did tackle some serious issues, but as far as Romance is concerned, this one should be in this list. The serious parts are necessary but the romance was so overwhelming. It’s perfect for a summer vacation. Faith and Gray came from 2 opposing families and different social classes. And they have a bad history because of those conflicts. So this book is a little on hate-to-love trope.
Did you see a pattern? Yep, they’re all rereads. That only means I really love these books and though I know us, readers, can always have different opinions about the books we read, I really do hope, you all enjoy my summertime recommendations. 🙂 🙂
Have you guys read any of these books? Or which interest you more?
Happy reading and happy summer,

I have read that Wallflower series. I really liked it. When it came to that annual, family musical recital, I totally cracked up. If you can reread a book and enjoy it, that’s a good sign.

Yes. I especially liked Devil in Winter, the one with Sebastian, I really love that story. Did you also read the Wallflower 0.5.. It was a good story too.. my next favorite in the series actually.
