Hi guys,
My God, we’re half-way thru 2018. ALREADY. I think it’s safe to really freak out. Right? With my life, in general, I must admit it’s great. Thanks to my writing, I really feel good about everything. Well, everything, but my blog. Jeez, half-year means I have to post many things. Updates and well, updates. 🙂 🙂 🙂
But I wanna start with this tag. I’ve been tagged with this last year but being me, of course I waited three months before finally doing it but of course the tag has already expired so yeah, I waited for another year to do this tag. and thanks to Priyasha, Kay and LaRonda that I remember this tag. And kindly click their names to visit their blogs. They’re amazing people. 🙂 🙂
So let’s do this….
1.) Best Book You’ve Read This Year?
I read so many great books since January but The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss is one of those books that might get to my ‘All-Time Favorite Reads’ list. I love Kvothe and his adventures. Kindly check out my review Here to know why.
2. Best Sequel You’ve Read in 2018?
I’ve read the Daughter of the Pirate King last year and even though I really liked it I had some complains about the heroine. But the author did amazing in Daughter of the Siren Queen. I think it’s everything every sequel should be. I saw developments not only to the heroine but to the author’s writing. I loved it.
(Kindly click the titles to see my reviews of each book.)
3. New Release You Haven’t Read Yet But Want To?
I’ve heard and read nothing but good things about this book so yeah, I want to read this. But I know it contains serious issues I might find hard to read, so that’s why I haven’t read it yet.
But I will. Soon.
4. Most Anticipated Release For The Second Half Of The Year?
One of my favorite books from last year was the Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco and even the sequel, Hunting Prince Dracula was a great read so it’s no surprise I’m so excited to read the third book, Escaping from Houdini. I just love Audrey Rose and Thomas Cresswell.
And look at the cover..
(Kindly click the titles to see my reviews of each book.)
5. Biggest Disappointment?
Oh I can name four books….
I know some of you might like some of these books but they just didn’t work for me. I’m gonna post a ranty review about Olympian Challenger one of these days. But the others, you can see my reviews by clicking their title below.
1.) The Oddling Prince by Nancy Springer
2.) Everless by Sarah Holland
3.) The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton
6. Biggest Surprise?
I was expecting Simon Vs. would be a great read that I would like it. But dash it, I loved it. It exceeded my expectation. And that seldom happens on my reads. I love all the characters, the message and everything in this book.

7. Favorite New To You Or Debut Author?
Ahm these two gorgeous, beautiful ladies, Tomi Adeyemi and Alexandra Christo… For debut authors, they really did great jobs. 🙂 🙂
8. Newest Fictional Crush?
Since January, I’ve read plenty of great books with amazing characters, both guys and girls, but I don’t think there’s someone I can call us fictional crush. I mean not as much as I feel for the casts of Six of Crows duology: Kaz, Inej, Nina, Matthias, Wylan, and Jesper. These six are all my fictional crushes…
9. Newest Favorite Character?
Amari from Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi and Eelyn from Sky in the Deep. They’re both badass.
(Kindly click the titles to see my reviews of each book.)
10. Book That Made You Cry?
These two books, mainly because how they tackled mental issues. 🙂 🙂 🙂
11. Book That Made You Happy?
The Hating Game. This book is just so, so, so adorable, I wanna cuddle with it. It brought me nothing but fun. If you haven’t read this book, read it already.
Need more convincing?

12. Favorite Book-To-Film Adaptation?
Ahm, I haven’t seen an adaptation so far… But I rewatched Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter so many times already since January, so let’s just go with them. I do plan on watching Love, Simon soon.
13. Favorite Post/Review You Have Done This Year?
Do I have one? Just judge it for yourself guys. I made a master list of all the reviews I made this year (also last year) You can see my 2018 reviews HERE.
14. Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought This Year?
This book and every other books with Black and White covers I bought since January, 🙂
15. What Books Do You Need To Read By The End of the Year?
Ahm this question needs an entire post to be answered. Seriously, I have plenty on my lits. It goes forever.
That’s it guys. Hope you enjoy reading this tag and if you wanna do it, you’re officially tag by me. 🙂
And how’s the year going for all of you? Let’s chat… And what do you think of the books I listed?
Hope we all have the rest of 2018 filled with joy and great reads. 🙂
Totally agree with your answers! The Hating Game was such a cute book! And I also can’t wait to get to the Seven Husband of Evelyn Hugo…it’s on my immediate TBR

Yay… I haven’t read any bad reviews about the Hating game. and someone just commented that Evelyn Hugo isn’t really that hard to read, so it’s been moved to my immediate TBR too..I was worried it would do so much to my emotions. 🙂 🙂

Haha…yeah it’s crazy isn’t it? We are already at the halfway point of the year. And it seems there is no slowing down at all. It’s nuts the way time is flying by, but I would not worry too much about it. There is still plenty of time…and hey your blog is awesome, so no worries there either. Great list of books. I’m currently in the middle of a 9 part manga series called Monster that is just too good to put down. Well…I should be able to finish that before the end of the year 😊😊

Yeah, there’s still plenty of time. i’m hoping to finish my first draft before this year ends. First novel and first drafts are the hardest. 🙂 🙂 But i’m moving forward so i’m happy.
And thank you, I actually haven’t done so much on my blog this past month…
COnfession: I haven’t read a manga before. I’ve seen mangas but I haven’t really set a time to read them. Any recommendation? It should be not too long.. if it’s a series it should be few parts only and fun to read. 🙂 🙂

I’m glad to read that things are going so well for you. And yeah, those definitely are the hardest, but I am convinced that you can do it 😊😊
Really no problem at all. I’m honestly not an expert on manga myself, having only read a few of them (more into anime than manga). A lot of manga have multiple parts and are longer running series. One you might want to check out is Another (which is a horror series with a terrific storyline) 😊 Another good source is checking out Jiriyan’s blog who reads way more manga than me 😀

I LOVED Evelynn Hugo last summer! I didn’t think that it had strong or difficult issues though…

Really?? I just assumed because everyone’s like emotionally affected by it. I’ll read it very, very soon then. Thank you for telling me. 🙂 🙂

I mean, I think it’s strongly emotional, but mostly for GOOD reasons! Except the end, which is VERY sad. But sad, not “difficult themes” or whatever.
