Hi Guys,
Back in February I posted the same Award, back then I was just beginning to get serious on my blog. So imagine my joy being nominated. And then after that nomination, I was nominated again THRICE. Three times, three bloggers thought I deserve this award and I feel bad for just doing this post now. So my apologies to Paige @BookishPaige, Amy @TheLittleBooknerds and Leslie @BooksAreTheNewBlack. Thank you so much lovely ladies for nominating me. And to everyone else, if you’re not following these three ladies yet, uhm, why?? Do it now. 🙂
RULES:
- Generate a post about the award.
- Thank the blogger who nominated you, and provide a link to their blog.
- Write a brief story about how your blog began.
- Provide two pieces of advice to newbie bloggers (or bloggers in general)
- Select 15 blogs to nominate.
So, how did it all began?
I’ve always wanted to blog, ever since I learned about this amazing world in the internet called blogosphere. But my problem is, I’m not good on commitments. Before this blog, I have made countless blog sites but I couldn’t seem to commit so I always abandon them. Then when I find the motivation again, I’d make a new one with new site name. Lili’s Blissful Pages started as another experiment and at the back of my mind, I knew, just like the others, it won’t last too. But it did. YAY!!! Sorry, I don’t really have an amazing story about how my blog started. More like this is a story of me growing up and learning to commit.
You can say that I’m starting to mature. *wink* It took me a long time though. hehe.
Blogging Advice
1.) Don’t be like Me.
Wait, what? Let me try again. Don’t do what I used to do. Like what I mentioned earlier, I used to make a blog and then stop posting then make a new one again. Again and again. It’s a terrible habit. The problem is not the stopping but I could’ve just pick up where I left off and start from there. Right? But I didn’t. Pausing is Okay but abandoning what I’ve already accomplished is not good at all.
See the maturity there? Hahaha!!!! Seriously, stay committed. Stick to your blog. Stop if you want but don’t dump your current blog completely like I did. Don’t be like me.
2.) Be like Me.
I’ll explain. I think the oldest advice for bloggers or for everyone who has an online platform is “Don’t mind the Numbers”. And I like this advice. But for new bloggers, it’s so easy to get discouraged and in my case, it affects me in such a bad way. It made me feel worse about myself. And so may I advise is that if Blogging is giving you stress or some kind of pressure and maybe it’s already affecting your moods in a bad way. Then you have to stop. You should step away from anything that makes you feel worse and inferior. Blogging should be an outlet where you relieve your stress in life, where you can be who you really are and share what you REALLY want to say. So if it’s putting you too much pressure, stop! but only for a while. When you feel better about it, then you can take another step forward. Be Like Me and do what I did which is the reason why my current is still alive. 🙂
Phew! I never thought I’m capable of giving any blogging advice. But hopefully, they’re fine. I’m no expert but I’ve tried. 🙂 🙂
Lastly, here are my nominees. And I met them all on twitter. 🙂 🙂

Aww, thank you so much for the nomination, that really is very kind of you, so thank you for this😊
But of course congratulations on this award as well 🎉🎉🎉 Those are some very good pieces of advice, especially the last one. We all have our good and bad days, but not any time should blogging become a burden. It’s supposed to be a fun experience, and if there are times when you feel like you can’t do it, it’s good to take a break.
I’m really glad to have discovered your blog. Keep up the great work you are doing 😊😊

I love your blogging advice. 😉 I’ve had to do the same thing at times and though it’s not excellent having swings like that, it’s actually good to know that I’m not alone in a wierd way! ❤
Thank you for the nomination! I appreciate it so much. Have a wonderful day. 😁

Thanks Mischenko. 🙂 I was once too cautious on mentioning about having mood swings and even depression online but then I got to know/meet people here who suffer the same thing and though they’re not proud of it, they’re not ashamed to admit that they need help… I realized the burden of having it seems lighter when you’re more open to it. 🙂
(You deserve the nomination. 🙂 You too, have a wonderful day. :))

That’s very useful advice! I know the numbers are alluring and you might think they’re a confirmation of success but believe me, it’s much better to have a smaller follower count but have some good interaction than to have 5000 followers and only a handful of likes. You’ll come to see that it’s always the same people anyway who take their time sharing and commenting and liking.

Very True. I’ve been just blogging for half a year and I’m still not good at it but I’m thankful for my followers though they’re not a huge number yet, I’m fine with it. ANyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂 I just visited your site and loved it. 🙂 🙂

Thanks for the nomination! This might be my first. I enjoyed your advice especially the numbers. It is difficult not to obsess over it. Everytime I go on pinterest, everyone has a pin of how they got 20,000 visitors in their first month and how they made a million dollars in the first 3 months. Ok the last one was an hyperbole. I look at traffic less now and I am more at peace. I am currently doing a 3 weeks no traffic check.
Thanks again and keep up the awesome content.
