I told myself I won’t do any Reading Challenge this year apart from Goodreads Reading Challenge, POPSUGAR, Bliss & Bleed and Clash of Classic. The first two are now more of tradition to me because I’ve been doing them for years. The other two challenges are personal ones so no pressure at all. I know I’d be very busy this year editing my manuscript and working, I have no time for reading challenges. In fact I lowered my Goodreads’ target to 100 books from 201 I’ve read last year. I also co-host Day-a-Thon, a 24-Hour Readathon we do every last weekend of the month and I’m a moderator in our new book club called, Diverse Divers. So yeah, 2019 would be very busy.
And yet here I am, joining another reading challenge.
This Reading challenge is called Year of the Asian and hosted by some of the most wonderful ladies in the blogosphere: Shelea from Shut Up, Shelea, Lily from Sprinkles of Dreams, Vicky from Vicky Who Reads and CW from The Quiet Pond.
The main goal is to read many books by Asian authors as much as you can. Just what I need. I really want to support Asian authors this year because in my entire reading life, I’ve read so few of books written by them. Hopefully through this challenge, I can change that.
I only chose this badge because I really love Pandas. They’re just the cutest. Panda Badge means I’ll read 31-40 books written by Asian authors but really, if possible, I’ll read more. So this badge is subject to change as I go on with this challenge.
By the way, the hosts also set some prompts for each month but I’m not sure if I can follow though the prompts are really interesting. And I encourage everyone to check out the host’s sites which I linked above with their names. They also have linkies every month for this mysterious grand year-end giveaway.
Now, you understand why I have to break my rule of not joining more Reading Challenge just for this challenge. I really love this reading challenge guys and I’d love it more if you’ll join too. hehe.
