5 Books I Kinda Want to See as Movies

Hi Blisses,

Adaptations? These books might be good in Cinemas and TV. Check out the list.

I’m making this post with dread. Haha. Why? I’ll get into it later. But first, let me thank the wonderful Shanah from The Bionic Bookworm for hosting Top Five Tuesday. She comes up with these topics every month. 🙂

This is an amazing topic, indeed, still, like I said, I’m making this post with dread. Why, I can’t say I’m a fan of adaptations. Sure there are movie and TV adaptations of great books that are highly successful such as Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. But the terrible adaptations outnumber the good ones. And for this post, of course I want to feature the books I love but at the same time, I’m worried seeing them on cinema or TV. What if they’re terrible? Right?

Struggle is real, people. But okaaaaay, here are the 5 books I want kinda want to see as movies.

1.) The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

You’re likely to agree with me if you’ve read this book. This book is also about a Hollywood Star and Evelyn Hugo is one of the most compelling characters I’ve ever read. The complexity of her character and her life would make a GREAT film, guys. Seriously.

2.) Autoboyography by Christina Lauren

Oh my God, it would be amazing if the makers of Love, Simon work on Autoboyography too. Love, Simon adaptation was really good. And the story line of Autoboyography involves religion and parents who are not as supportive as Simon’s parents. The conflicts, people.

3.) The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (The Kingkiller Chronicle)

Aaaah I want to see an adaptation of a High Fantasy book that is as great as Lord of the Rings. And the Kingkiller Chronicles Series is maybe the answer. I can see even now, the comparisons between the two trilogies and LoTR will win (I’m bias) but still, with right casting and production, The Kingkiller Chronicle can be a great saga. But of course, Patrick Rothfuss should write the third book first.

4.) Kiss of an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Philipps

This is a romance about Daisy and Alex. They got married, not their choice, and Alex sees Daisy as spoiled and a diva at first despite her angel-like face. The romance is really great plus the character development of Daisy was amazing. I don’t want to elaborate for spoiler’s sake but I can picture Anne Hathaway playing Daisy. Anne Hathaway’s face fits the role.

5.) A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman

I’ll totally watch this movie. It would be about an old man who acts like most old men – grumpy. Hahaha. ( Love you Grandpas. ) He lives alone and just minding his life until a family moves in the neighborhood. It changes everything in his life. This book reminds me of Up in some ways and who doesn’t like that animated film, right? So yeah, a movie adaptation of this book will be fine.

This is it guys. These are the five books I kinda want to see as movies. I can’t say I’m excited about the idea of them being adapted but I’ll sure visit the cinema or turn on the TV if they’re on. 🙂 🙂

  2. Ove is a movie I heard. I think Name of the Wind may be or soon to be in production. Little Women is being done again, in the traditional flavor of the movie. I know Emma Watson is one of the stars. I want to watch the modern version that came out last year.

      1. They’re great! And the series is complete now, so plus. I love that she explores dragons on every continent, and different geography. And how humans in different cultures interact with them.

Yessss, and GRR Martin!!! I’m gonna riot if both don’t finish their series soon.
