A Different Time by Michael K. Hill (BlogTour)

Hi Blisses,

Guys, I can’t even tell you how happy I am that I’m part of this blog tour. Yeah, I am not in the list of bloggers above due to miscommunication, I guess I can just call it a miscommunication. hehe. But I have the book and The Write Reads, the host of this #UltimateBlogTour, told me I can post my review today. But anyway, oh my God, this book!!! I didn’t expect the feelings it brought me. I cried!!! I fre*kin’ teared up. So please keep reading. I want you all to know more about this book.

TITLE: A Different Time
Michael K. Hill
Sci-Fi, Romance
July 2nd, 2019 by Tangent Press

Keith Nolan falls in love with a remarkable young woman from the past, talking to him on a home video she recorded in 1989. To keep their conversation going, he must find more of her tapes—while forces work against them both, and time is running out.

A Heart-warming love story that I couldn’t help but root for the romance despite its impossibility, proving that this is a tale crafted to touch the reader’s heart. Sure, the mystery kept me hooked but it is the showing of the extent of the power of love that really made Keith and Lindsey’s love story exceptional.

“Sail to Serenity, sail to serenity.”

Do you believe in fate, or destiny, whatever you call it? I do. I believe that it’s destiny I became one of the “The Write Reads” bloggers which made it possible for me to read this book. I can assure you that I wouldn’t have find this gem by myself. There are thousands of amazing books out there and no matter how much I try to read more, my effort seems lacking. Thankfully, this book found its way to my kindle. I can even tell you it’s the same way Lindsey’s tape found its way to Keith’s hands. And then, Keith’s finding the rest of them.

I really enjoyed Keith and Lindsey’s story. I felt like time flew so fast when I read it. I didn’t even noticed I was nearing the ending. Maybe because I was in denial. I really didn’t want to end. I savored every scene where Lindsey and Keith ‘talks’. And then I cried, which as I said, I wasn’t expecting. I didn’t expect the book would affect me as much as it did. And the first time Keith talked to Lindsey, gooseflesh spread across my arms too, the same way Keith felt. I felt the same way when the twist was revealed even though I was already expecting it. This proves how amazing the storytelling is because it still evoked an emotion from me even though I was already expecting it. Kudos to the author.

Though I must admit, at first I was a little put off by the writing which is ridiculous because I ended up liking the writing. It’s just at the first few chapters, the writing feels too ABC-ish. Every little thing that the characters do were narrated but that changed as the book progresses. I really highly recommend this book. If you just want to relax and feel in love, taste a bit of mystery, and maybe cry a bit, this book is perfect. 🙂 🙂

By the way, the author thanked Nanowrimo.org at the end of the book so I’m guessing, just guessing, that this book was drafted through National Novel Writing Month, and if it is, how cool is that? *Just imagine me grinning wide and excited to do NaNoWriMo this November more than ever.*
