We’re at the first Wednesday of the month and I think I’m off to a good start. Though this is a meme for our reads, let me just share that I spent the whole day reviewing ideas in all the “brain dumps” section of my past journals, including the ones in my phone and laptop. And wow, I’m so ready to start a new story. Reading my past notes just made me feel happy, motivated and just generally okay, which is a good thing because to be honest, health-wise, I’m not okay. Tomorrow, I’ll be starting a new story and I can’t wait.
But now, let’s talk about my reads. This meme is hosted by Sam from Taking on a World of Words and if you haven’t visited her site yet, now is the time. You won’t regret it.
#3 Questions are to be Answered
1.) What are you currently reading?
“Becoming” by the one and only, Michelle Obama is my non-fiction of the month. I’m going to read this little by little – as I did with my past non-fiction reads – and so far, I’m around 10%. it’s too early to say how I feel about it but hopefully, it lives up to its high rating. The Shadows Between Us is by Tricia Levenseller, and I’ve always loved this author. er books are not the best and grandest but they always give me enjoyment, so i have hopes for this.
I already started — pffft, who am I kidding? Of course I haven’t started it. If I did, I would’ve already finished it. But, as you all know, I read every night and tonight this will be my read.
2.) What did you recently finished?
Last week, we had Day-A-Thon, our 24-Hour Readathon and I read two books. But that’s not why I considered it a success, but rather the fact that those two books ended up being my first 4.5 and 5-star rated books. It’s been a long, LONG, time since I rate a book a perfect 5-star so this is a big deal for me. And I have a new rule that i’ll only rate a book five stars if it made on my all-time fave books. That’s a little high standard but my reads, my rule. The book i gave a 5-star rating is THE GRACE YEAR and if you want to read my thoughts about it, kindly visit THIS LINK. I rated Serpent and Dove, 4.5 star because for me, it’s almost perfect. You can read my thoughts about it HERE. I read The Duet last night, and it’s my first read of the month. I love it so much. R.S. Grey once again made me swoon and laugh.
3.) What do you think you’ll read next?
There you have it guys. I’m trying to stay true to my TBR so wish me luck. 🙂
Have you read any of these books? Are they on your TBR too? What do you think of them? What’s on your TBR this week? Have you had your first 5-star read of this decade yet? Let’s chat.
