Hi Blisses,

One of my reading goals this year is to finish the book series I’ve started, but I also can’t forget the fact that there are so many series in my TBR that I’ve been meaning to read for quite a long time now. I decided to talk about them in this post.
This meme is hosted by Mandy from Devouring Books and this week’s topic is “Trilogies.” Personally, I love trilogies. I think, for a series, three books is the most ideal number. Duology is a bit not enough while more than three is already a bit harder to finish. Not to mention, it’s such a struggle to wait for the next book to come. So three is a perfect number for a series.
I have a lot of trilogies in my TBR but I can only talk about five in this post.
1.) The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

Maybe because I’m not the biggest fan of The Mortal Instrument that I haven’t read this one yet. Don’t get me wrong, I liked TMI but didn’t really love it so I’m not that excited to dive into The Infernal Devices. I do find the author’s fictional world with Shadowhunters really fascinating. That’s why, this one is still in my TBR. I will surely read the series one day.
2.) The Young Elites by Mari Lu

I’m embarrassed to admit that I haven’t read any from this author but I own physical copies of the whole series, including her other books, so I know I’ll read them one day. Besides I have Warcross, another series by this author, in my current month TBR.
3.) Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton

This has been on my TBR for like ages. I remember my initial reason for not reading it already is because the third installment hasn’t come out yet. But when it did…Well you know how it did. I still haven’t read it. However, I own e-copies of this series so might as well read them. But not soon, I’m afraid.
4.) Iskari by Kristen Ciccarelli

The reason for not reading this series yet has something to do with my experience with another series, The Graceling. I know they’re not at all the same, soooo different concept but it seems to me, like The Graceling, Iskari trilogy is a series with some kind of standalone novels. The stories are still connected but features diferent main characters. I didn’t like it with the Graceling so I’m a bit hesitant with Iskari. BUT IF I’M WRONG WITH MY PRESUMPTIONS, PLEASE TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS.
5.) Delirium by Lauren Oliver

I love Lauren Oliver and I love even more the idea of this dystopian series — Love is a disease. But for some reason I still haven’t read it, and while writing this post, I realized I don’t have any valid reason for not doing so unlike with the previous ones in this list. I just haven’t picked this up from my shelves yet, unless I’m to clean them from dust.
There you have it Blisses — the trilogies I’ve been meaning to read. Sometimes, really, I don’t understand how readers’ minds work, including mine. How can we like something and it’s there for us to take (or do) and yet we don’t? I’m pretty sure I’m not the only reader who wants to read something but always never get round to really do it. I guess we really are odd creatures. LOL.
What about you? Any trilogy you’ve always wanted to read? Any favorite trilogy? Have you read the ones in my list? What do you think of them? Let’s chat.

I read The Infernal Devices trilogy before I started reading TMI. I absolutely devoured them. I think I read all 3 books in like a week I was so into them.

They were the first Cassandra Clare books I read. I’m not sure if you’re supposed to read those first but it worked for me and I loved them.

I heard that The Infernal Devices has the best love triangle. I’m curious about that aspect. 🙂

I totally agree, I love trilogies. I thought Rebel of the Sands was great, I even submitted it as a staff pick at the Library where I work. I also read the second book, but Hero at the Fall is still on my TBR, too. Another favorite trilogy of mine is the Ruby Red Trilogy by Kerstin Geir, which I wish were better known, it is so much fun.

Because of what you said, I’ll be reading Rebel of the Sands next month. If I’m not so keen to stay true to my Monthly TBR, I would’ve read it sooner. 🙂 And I’ll go check on Ruby Red Trilogy. I haven’t heard of it before. 🙂

I need to read it soon. It was so well-known years ago, I bought the ebooks. I don’t know why I still haven’t read them. 🙂
