Hi Blisses,

If you’ve been following my posts on my social media, you might remember that I’m struggling with anxiety these past week, and it’s even worse these past three days. My city is in a community quarantine and everyone is advised to stay inside and if you do get out, you’ll be questioned, tested and all that. So I can’t get out, which is not new to me but you see, I’m not home.
I’m at my aunt’s, visiting, when the quarantine was announced and effective immediately. I had no chance to come home so I’m stuck here for a month. No books, no Kindle, no clothes. Thankfully, I always bring my old laptop when I go out and I can borrow clothes but still, it’s different. My anxiety is not giving me a break. I ended up working on all my social media accounts and even joined new ones. I’m now in Litzy guys. Follow me HERE if you want. I’ll also be making a new, better facebook account later.
As for my reads, well it’s going well. That’s why, even though I feel lazy and unmotivated writing, I don’t want to skip this week’s WWW. This meme is hosted by Sam from Taking on a World of Words and if you haven’t visited her site yet, kindly do now. You won’t regret it.
#3 Questions are to be Answered
1.) What are you currently reading?
A confession first, I’m actually done with Engaged in Danger but I don’t want to list it as read yet because I want to challenge myself to write the review before considering it done. And it’s sent to me by the author so I can’t not review it.
I’m just about to start Havenfall by Sara Holland. I’m excited about this book. True, I wasn’t a big fan of her debut duology but I’ve heard great things about Havenfall. I think I’ll finish Becoming earlier than I planned. I have lots of time anyway since I can’t really work on my WIP. My anxiety won’t let me.
2.) What did you recently finished?
I read six books.
Please click on their titles to read my reviews…
1.) Well Met by Jen DeLuca
2.) Venators: Magic Unleashed by Devri Walls
I won’t be reviewing The Lies of Locke Lamora any soon because I’m not capable of writing a proper review. This book is very very well written especially in a writer’s view. Like I wished I can write like Scott Lynch because his writing style is amazing. I’ll reread this one anyway so for now, I won’t force myself to review it.
My review for 5 Adventures of Sherlock Holmes will be up on the 20th. I’m a part of a blog tour for this so watch out for my review.
I’ll be posting my review for Duke’s Actually and The Duke’s Bride tomorrow. These two aren’t really on my March TBR but I was in a mood for a historical romance so I picked up Duke’s Actually. But it’s only a novella so I ended up reading the next in the series as well. Since they are novellas, I”ll be posting mini reviews for both of them.
3.) What do you think you’ll read next?
There you have it guys? how’s your reading this past week? Also, how are you faring with our current situation with COVID? Stay safe everyone.
Have you read any of these books? Are they on your TBR too? What do you think of them? What’s on your TBR this week? Have you had your first 5-star read of this decade yet? Let’s chat.

I think anxiety about the current situation is natural for everyone at the moment. If you look at it another way, anxiety is what keeps us safe by making us aware of risks and taking action to mitigate them. I hope you manage to find some distraction by way of your books.

True. You have a point. 🙂 I’m focusing on my reads these days and only on bookish stuff on social media.

Oh jeez.. I can’t imagine what it must be like to have a quarantine effective immediately when you aren’t even at home! I hope you’re doing okay and will continue being okay..
As for books – I’m hoping to read Red, White & Royal Blue this year but I keep postponing on it due to ARCs? It sucks but it has to happen, I guess? Although I’m coming to a point where it’s very tempting to go “nope, reading my own books now” so we’ll see how that goes.

Yeah it is so hard. It’s scary and frustrating at the same time because I’m not using my own things. And I can’t stop worrying but I’m trying to stay positive…Thank you so much. 🙂 You too stay safe.
I actually just came back from an ARC ban. Like for few months I didn’t accept any requests. I didn’t request on Netgalley and Edelweiss as well. I must say, it’s so satisfying to see my Netgalley shelf empty. Hehe. But i started requesting last week again. Gonna need more books to read during quarantine. Because of course, I didn’t even have my Kindle. I have my phone though so ebooks for me till I come home. Anyway, good luck with your ARCs.

I do feel like they should’ve been a BIT less strict and let people get to their own homes at least.. Like.. It’s mentally challenging without being surrounding by your own stuff; not to mention if you don’t even have that.. We’re doing our best!
Ha! I think I had an empty NetGalley ONCE and never since. But, on the other hand, I only have.. eight or nine on them? Which is basically “very much okay” compared to a lot of other bloggers. Being international does help of course.
Hope your eyes / head don’t mind the screen time too much! My head starts hurting whenever I’m reading on my phone too often.

I’m so sorry, Lili! Honestly, I think I’d rather borrow clothes than go without my Kindle, lol. At least you have your laptop. I read Havenfall (that cover is stunning) and will definitely continue with the series – hope you enjoy it! https://teripolen.com/2020/03/18/www-wednesday-what-am-i-reading-amreading-35/

Take care, Lili. It is an anxious time and I guess the best thing we can is try and stay positive. I am going to be working at home from tomorrow; such a shame you can’t go home for a while.

Lili, I am so sorry to hear you got quarantined while at your aunt’s and can’t go home – I also suffer with anxiety so can really sympathise. It is hard enough being home from work myself, but not having your own home and things around you to bring you comfort must be so hard. Stay safe, happy and healthy as best you can. And happy reading! 🙏❤

Oh, man, I’m so sorry that you ended up stuck with the quarantine. That doesn’t sound like a very good time. D: Hope you can read lots of books to help take your mind off it.
I need to read The Lies of Locke Lamora, and I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it so much! I’m looking forward to picking it up.
I hope you love The Boy Who Steals Houses! I haven’t read it yet, because … I like my feels intact and as they are for the moment? But I do so love Cait’s writing, and I’m looking forward to reading it.
