Life in Books Book Tag

Hi Blisses,

It’s been a while since I posted a book tag. It’s actually been a year since I posted one though I’ve been tagged a lot. I promise I will catch up on them soon. Funny thing is I wasn’t tagged to do Life in Books but here I am. Instead of doing the tags that I was tagged to do, I stole a tag from my friend Hannah over at Hannah’s Bookshelf. I enjoyed reading her answers so if you guys want to read them or if you want to do this post as well, check out HER POST.

Hannah saw this tag over at Boston Book Reader and we really don’t who the original creator is so if it’s you or you know who it is, please let us know. We want to give them credit.

Okay, now, let’s answer some questions.

1.) Find a book for each of your initials.

L – Love Hacked by Penny Reid
K – Kiss Me Not by Emma Hart
M – Meet Cute by Helena Hunting

2.) Count your age along your bookshelf – what book is it?

I’m not going to mention my age (LOL) but it landed on A VERY LARGE EXPANSE OF SEA by Tahereh Mafi. I remember liking this book so much when I read it. I was even thankful because it somehow made me love YA Contemporary.

3.) Name a book set in your city/country.

PHILIPPINES – guys, do yourselves a favor and read Dekada ’70. It is one of my favorite books of all time and I think I should talk about it more often. I read it when I was 12. I was too young and yet, I was moved by the story and the writing itself. Dekada ’70 or Decade ’70 is an account of a woman and her family in a time when Martial Law is declared in the Philippines. Guys, just please read this book. Obviously, it has been translated to English so you guys can read it.

4.) Name a book that represents a destination you’d love to travel to.

Just like Hannah, I would like to choose a fictional destination. I actually have two places in mind – Narnia and Middle Earth. I don’t I have to explain why I want to visit these two destinations.

5.) Name your favourite childhood book.

To be honest, I don’t believe I have one. I mean I started reading full-length novels at eight but I started with Crime Thrillers. It feels weird calling any of those John Grisham books as my favorite childhood book. LOL

6.) Name a book that’s your favourite colour

Black and White. I don’t really like colors. Maybe teal or turquoise but most of my stuff are black, white or grey. I swear my closet is filled with black, white and grey and few maroons. But as for black and white, I’d go with The Cruel Prince by Holly Black.

7.) Which book do you have the fondest memories of?

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. My parents got this book for me when I turned 18 and it’s the very first book they got for me. My parents are not readers, in fact no one in my family is. My parents even see reading fiction books as a waste of time. They never stopped me from reading but they were never supportive as well. And of course they were against my dream to be an author too, which is understandable. I think when they gave me P&P was the first time they were OK of me reading a lot. LOL

8.) Which book did you have the most difficulty reading?

All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. Not because it’s a badly written book. It’s actually a great book and I rated it five stars. The reason I had a hard time reading it, twice, is because of my mental health. I don’t want to spoil anything but if you have any mental health issues, it’s probably better if you read a spoiler review first.

9.) Which book in your TBR pile will give you the biggest accomplishment when you finish it?

IT by Stephen King. First it’s huge. Second, I read some spoilers and I’m pretty sure there are parts that will be hard for me to read. But it’s IT and I need to read it someday.

There you have it Blisses. I really enjoyed doing this tag, hope you guys do too.

Tagging: Haadu, Chai, Sammie, Sophie, Kim, Jill, Sophie, Georgia, Noly and anyone who wish to do it.

By the way, guys, I’m still raising funds for my cat’s medical bills. She has cancer and taking radiation treatments. Needless to say, her bills are expensive. If you can help, I will really appreciate that. Or maybe just RT my pinned tweet on Twitter. The links are below if you want to help.
