Best Book Covers of 2018 (Blogmas #20)

Hi Blisses,

‘Don’t judge the book by its cover!’

Well, unless you’re making a list of best covers which what this post is about. 2019 is just ten days away but before we say goodbye to 2018, I want to share 24 of my favorite book covers to you. I was tagged to do this by Mandy from Devouring Books. Thank you for tagging me Mandy. And if you guys aren’t following her yet, this is the time to do so.

I think this is the first ‘BEST’ list I’ve done this December so I hope you guys like what I’ve come up with. But before I get on with the list, I want everyone to know that I’m a simple person when it comes to book covers. I see an aesthetic cover and I give my money away to get my hands on it. So really, this list isn’t that hard for me to do.

So are you ready?

24 Best Book Covers of 2018

Aren’t they beautiful? I judge book covers base on various aspects. Sometimes, it’s just about the art, how aesthetic it looks such as ‘The Wedding Date’ ‘Suitors and Sabotage’ and ‘the Hazel Wood’. Sometimes because it looks so mysterious like ‘A thousand Perfect Notes’ and ‘Jar of Hearts’. Sometimes, I love how badass the characters on the cover like ‘The Belles’, ‘Children of Blood and Bone’, ‘Sky in the Deep’ and ‘A blade so black’. And look at the covers of ‘The Pisces’, ‘Shape of a water’ and ‘Sea Witch’. They’re so filled with emotions that make you wanna explore what’s inside. So artistic.

How about you guys, how do you judge a cover? What kind of cover designs usually make your eyes go hearts?

Let’s chat about covers in the comments.

(I’m not tagging anyone but whoever wants to do this, just tag me and Mandy so we can see your lists. :))

      1. I defintitely do that as well! Covers and names are 2 big ones for me! I was introduced to Banana Yoshimoto solely because I looked at the book “Asleep” in the bargain section and went “the author’s name is Banana?! I’M IN!” I usually end up with some strange books like “Sleeping with Big Bird” and on the opposite end of the spectrum “Ass Goblins of Auschwitz”

  1. Some really nice covers here. Lots of blues and dark colors, but just enough of everything else to largely balance out the collage. I enjoyed reading and taking a look at all the covers 🙂 Thanks for submitting this to the showcase!
