Hi Blisses,
Top 5 Tuesday is a book meme hosted by Shanah from Bionic Book Worm and she’s the one who comes up with the topics of the month. March is alphabet. We’re on the second week so supposedly I should be doing F to J but I messed up last week. I thought the alphabet was for book titles when it should be book authors. To make up for my mistake, I’m doing a Top 10 list instead of just 5.
I decided to stick on their first names and only on authors that are on my TBR.
A – Alix E. Harrow
Alix E. Harrow’s book, The Ten Thousand Doors of January have been on my TBR since December last year and I don’t really know why I still haven’t read it. But of course, it’s in my March TBR and so far, I’ve been staying true to the books in my list. This book has lots of good reviews and it has 4.12 rating on Goodreads as of the writing of this post. Needless to say, I’m excited to read it and hopefully, I ended up loving it as much as everyone did.
But I do know someone who didn’t like this book. Hehe. (I’m grinning because the one I’m referring to is actually Shanah. She talked about it in her February Wrap-Up.)
B – Beth O’Leary
I already read The Flatshare and it was a good read for me. That made me like Beth O’Leary and so I also added The Switch on my TBR. It isn’t out yet and I’m excited. It has a great premise with a 79-year old grandmother and a woman in her twenties switching for two months. Not the magic-body-swapping kind but just switching their homes. I think this will be a great read.
C – Casey McQuiston
I’ve heard and read nothing but good things about this book. Casey McQuiston is a new-to-me author and I have a feeling she won’t disappoint.
D – Devri Walls
I’m part of a blog tour for the first book of Devri Walls’ Venators series and so far, the reviews are all good. I actually have no doubt, I’ll end up liking it too. It has everything I like in a fantasy book.
E – Emma Lord
Another new-to-me author and her book looks promising. The blurb says about two people who interacts on social media – twitter – but at the same time know each other in real life. I just love that concept. I will read anything that has a similar concept. Though this concept can be a flop if not done right, still I have high hopes for Tweet Cute. It has lots of great reviews and hopefully, Emma Lord’s writing really delivers.
F – Francesca Zappia
I’m a huge fan of Francesca Zappia, and her books always turn to be unforgettable reads for me. So when Now Entering Addamsville came out last year, I was excited to read it. Sadly, I’ve seen lots of unencouraging reviews so I lost interest. But I can’t totally take it out of my TBR, because like I said, I’m a huge fan of Francesca. I’m pretty sure I’ll read it soon.
G- Gail Honeyman
This is the only book I know of Gail Honeyman and it is enough. Once in a while, I treat myself with a book that is heartwarming and I know will make me feel THINGS. This book would be it, I’m sure of it. It has raving reviews on goodreads and I’m excited.
H – Holly Black
Why these books are still on my TBR and not on my Read list, I have no idea. The Cruel Prince is one of my fave reads two years ago so it’s really surprising I still haven’t read the next two books in the series. I will need to reread TCP, I think, before continuing the series. Holly Black is such a great writer, I have no doubt this series will kill me.
I – Ilona Andrews
Ilona Andrews is a pseudonym of a husband and wife. I actually don’t know that until now even though I have their books (Innkeepers Chronicles and The Edge Series) on my shelves since I was a kid. Yeah, fine since I was in college. I do think I was still a kid when I was in college. Hehe. Anyways, I do think Ilona Andrews are amazing writers and all their books have high ratings but I think there was a time I avoided urban or paranormal fantasy – thanks a lot, Twilight. But I do hope I get to pick up these books this year.
J – Jen Deluca
Aaaah, I’m so excited for Jen DeLuca’s Well Met that she should be in this list even though I have quite a lot of J-authors on my TBR. Well Met seems to be the perfect contemporary romcom I need.
I realized most of the authors in this list are new-to-me authors, and I’m so excited. There’s nothing better than discovering a new favorite author.
Have you read these books? Have you read any book from these authors? Let’s chat.

I feel like I am prepping for quarantine by ordering books! I will probably use this excuse to pick up Flatshare.

I’m glad to see you popped Ilona Andrews into your list. 😉 I’ve seen some amazing reviews for the TBR books and hope they live up to expectations. I wouldn’t discount a book just because there are some low reviews – we’re all different.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, Lili. Thanks for visiting my Top 5 Tuesday Post

I did enjoy Eleanor Oliphant, it was such a sweet and sad book. I think that might be the only book that the author has written!

Glad you liked it, I’m excited to read it and yeah, I don’t think the author has written anything else. But at least, it’s a great book.
