“It’s because your subconscious finds my subconscious irresistible.”
Why is Brooke Parker single? According to her exes, she’s not a ‘big picture’ kind of girl. Due to her experiences living in one of the wealthiest town in Chicago but not really from a rich family, Brooke is used to proving herself, working hard in highschool and law school so her parent’s sacrifices don’t go to waste. And even now, as General Counsel for a five-star restaurant chain, she’s still working as hard. But life is passing her by.
Why is Cade Morgan single? According to his exes, he’s ’emotionally unavailable’. Cade Morgan, a former football star now one of Chicago’s top prosecutors, was raised by a single mother. And maybe his absent father is the reason why he keeps his emotions with himself and that is because he’s afraid of rejection, his exes said so.
I love everything about this book, well except for occasional differentiation of men and women which I already mentioned in my review of the previous book in this series. But I don’t want to dwell on that part.
I found certain depth in this book that I didn’t find in the previous ones. Don’t get me wrong the previous ones were good reads but this one, the character development was amazing. Brooke stepped up that by the end she experiences the best out of her life and learned what she deserves after all her hardworks. While Cade matured by accepting his past and by that I mean, opening up to people he cares for. So I think you can see the depth I’m saying. Both the characters are developed, not just their romance.
Speaking of Romance, I love how it didn’t start right away, though the attraction was apparent, they started as two professional people who really values their works. And actually, it was in a work meeting that their first kiss happened and it was so unexpected. And once the steamy scenes started… 🙂 🙂 All I can say is that Cade and Brooke’s chemistry is undeniable.
I love the side stories surrounding Cade and Brooke but mostly Cade. I love his friends who I’ve met in the previous books. And I love his brother, Zach. Their conversations were hilarious. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Finally, I can say that this is the best in the series so far.
