Quirky December (Blogmas #2)

Hi Blisses,

Yes, I just called you Blisses. From now on, that’s the endearment I’m gonna use addressing you all. I’m also trademarking the term. Hahahahaha!!!!

It’s Day #2 of Blogmas 2018 and for today, I decided to talk about some bits of self-love. Christmas is a season of giving, but so many times, we get so caught up giving to others, we forget giving ourselves some love. We also deserve love from ourselves. And best way to do that is through acceptance. This is hard. We all have flaws and quirks we can’t share to others comfortably. But I learned that these quirks are what makes me, Me. If everyone acts like everyone else, what a boring world we’d be living in.

I learned to accept and embrace these quirks of mine and this simple act made me love myself more. Loving yourself is not a sin, it’s a virtue. So, I’m gonna share you one (or 3) of my quirks with no shame.

1.) My wardrobe is filled with shades of black/white/gray stuffs. Like you’ll rarely see me wearing clothes with colors. And I wear them over and over until they’re worn out. And then I love the clothes even more when they look worn out and really old. It doesn’t matter if I have hundreds of clothes in my closet, I’ll use the same shirts and shorts fresh from the laundry. So it looks like I only own so few clothes. This quirk of mine made me decided to be a minimalist next year and I will give out most of my clothes.

2.) I name all my stuffs. My phone’s named Blink. My old laptop is Limey. My new laptop is named Shadow Reaper (named after the creatures in my new book but I think I’ll rename it coz I might change the names of the said creatures too.) I have a notebook that’s named Tainted. My eye glasses named Visus which means vision/sight in Latin. I name most of my things except for my pencils coz the last time I counted I have 56 pencils. (Yikes) Anyway, naming my stuffs seems to make me care for them more making them last. 🙂

3.) My desk. It’s always changing. Every week there’s new arrangement on my desk. And I can’t seem to start the week without changing something in it. Sometimes I want it super messy, sometimes, I want it just dull and really uninspiring. hehe. So weird. Also I converted a part of my closet to be my writing desk.

I still have hundreds of other quirks but I’ll stop now. 🙂 🙂 By the way, this post is inspired by Shalini and Robbie Yates who invited me to be a member of The Kooky Kid’s Club. They sent me an invitation.

This is a part of promoting Robbie Yate’s new book called The Kooky Kids’ Club which I’ll be reviewing here on my blog next week so watch out for it.

That’s it for today’s #Blogmas post. Hope you enjoyed this and I’d really love knowing some of your quirks so kindly share them to me in the comments. Remember, your quirks are what make you unique. You are beautiful.

Love yourself.

  2. Oh my god my quirks are similar to yours, I’ll wear the same clothes again and again, especially jumpers. I rarely go clothes shopping so when I do it’s only to buy one top or one jumper or one jeans but I don’t do big shopping sprees, unless it’s books then yes I do xD

    1. Jumpers and Cardigans are my favorite. I loterally carry a cardigan with me everywhere I go and there’s always one hanging by the doors , ready to be used. haha. And they’re all gray and black.

And omg, we’re twins… I don’t do big shopping for clothes too, but with books, I always end up broke when I buy books. haha

      1. Oh yes!! I go broke from book shoppings but clothes one I probably spend like £30-£40 .. and that’s because I totally don’t mind going broke shopping for pyjamas!

My dark red cardi is always on the door ready to be used too xD

        WE ARE TWINS! OMG

  3. I love that you love yourself. I usually wear the same, ol’ stuff. I didn’t buy clothes for a long time and then broke down and had bought some before our LA trip because I had to survive in 90° weather in southern CA. I also broke down and found a few tops at Old Navy when shopping for funeral pants.

    1. I don’t know why but old worn out clothes even ripped ones, they’re like my comfort clothes. Like I’m me when I wear them. 🙂 🙂 Sounds weird hehe.

I might buy some tops, and maybe jumpers when I shop for gifts. 🙂 🙂 I need new ones.

  4. Most of my clothes are black, too, but I’m trying to introduce a bit more colour into it… it feels pretty strange, though! Really enjoyed reading this 🙂
